SMW TV #35 (8/31/1992)

Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantell on commentary. Caudle gives a rundown of what will be on this week’s show. Dutch Mantell’s special guests will be The Stud Stable.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) vs. Robbie Eagle & Mike Sampson

Ricky Morton and Mike Sampson start the match. Morton with a clothesline off the ropes at Sampson. Gibson tags in and catches Sampson with a knee lift. He slams Sampson and follows with a knee drop. He gets a 2-count on Sampson before Sampson tags in Eagle. Gibson and Morton with a double-team elbow at Eagle.

Dutch Mantell asks Bob Caudle if the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express ever made an album. Caudle says they did. Mantell tells Caudle that it sold plywood in that they only sold less than 150 copies and it’s on the verge of going sheet rock selling 200 copies.

Backflip by Gibson on Eagle. He kicks Eagle in the corner and gets him with a punch. Quick tag for Morton and he gets a 2-count on Eagle. Fans start a “Rock ‘n’ Roll” chant. Morton with a hiptoss on Eagle. Morton tags in Gibson and they whip Eagle into the ropes and catch him with a double dropkick. Gibson pins Eagle for the win.

WINNERS: The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express

Bob Caudle interview The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express. Gibson vows revenge against The Stud Stable and The Heavenly Bodies. Morton says they are going to win the titles at some point but they are going after The Stud Stable. He says Cornette can cry all he wants but they took the “Express” name from Cornette and they’ll take the tag titles too.

SMW Commissioner Bob Armstrong joins Bob Caudle to talk about the stalker who has been after Brian Lee. Armstrong has no update on who this mystery stalker is. They show a replay of the mystery man attacking Brian Lee. They follow that with a clip of a six-man tag team match between Brian Lee, Dixie Dynamite & Tim Horner against The Heavenly Bodies & Killer Kyle. Brian Lee gets attacked by The Nightstalker.

Bob Armstrong reads another letter from the mystery man who has been sending people to attack Brian Lee and placed the bounty on him. Armstrong reads that this man has many followers who are out to avenge him. It includes a contract for Brian Lee to wrestle The Mongolian Mauler.

The Dirty White Boy and Jim Cornette promos for upcoming show in Everton, Kentucky.

Killer Kyle (w/ Jim Cornette) vs. Newton Steffey

Jim Cornette joins on commentary as Killer Kyle kicks Steffey. Kyle slams Steffey and follows with a leg drop. He refuses to pin Steffey. Kyle with a side slam on Steffey and again refuses to pin him. Big forearm and kick at Steffey’s back. He chokes and gouges Steffey’s eyes. Kyle whips Steffey across the ropes and hits him with a forearm. Again Killer Kyle refuses to pin him. He gorilla presses Steffey and teases throwing him to the outside but drops him in the ring instead.

Big punch followed by a choke by Kyle. Steffey ducks a clothesline and goes for a cross body press on Kyle. Kyle catches him and gets him with the spinebuster. Kyle again refuses to go for the pin. He follows with a variation of a bear hug to knock out Steffey and get the win.

WINNER: Killer Kyle

Jim Cornette & The Heavenly Bodies join Bob Caudle. Stan Lane is upset that the fans keep screaming loudly knowing that he has a perforated ear drum. Prichard warns the ugly women to keep their hands off them or they are going to file a large sexual harassment suit against SMW. Cornette says that since 1984 he has hated the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express. He refuses to give them another title shot.

“Down and Dirty” with Dutch Mantell and this week’s guests, Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden, The Stud Stable. They replay the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express vs. Heavenly Bodies tag title match from last week with The Stud Stable getting involved. Fuller claims that Gibson was clumsy and tumbled over the top rope and had they not been there to make sure he didn’t hurt himself or anyone ringside. He talks about the old Rock ‘n Rollers like Ricky Nelson and Elvis Presley and now you see Aerosmith and Guns ‘n Roses and drugs and alcohol. Fuller says he is a God-fearing Christian. Golden says drugs and alcohol will do the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express any good against The Stud Stable.

Mr. Ron Wright joins Bob Caudle for an interview. He says Tim Horner has hounded him more than any bill collector ever had. He is tired of him wanting a title match against The Dirty White Boy. Tim Horner comes out and confronts Mr. Wright. Horner claims he was going to get a title match against The Dirty White Boy and asks Mr. Wright were the contract is. Mr. Wright tells Horner that he can’t even write because of how bad his arthritis is. He tells Horner that he’s a liar.

The Dirty White Boy attacks Tim Horner with a chair from behind! He beats on Horner and then handcuffs Horner. He continues to beat on Horner. The Dirty White Boy gets a noose and puts it around Horner’s neck and drags him towards the ring. He hangs Horner from the corner and ties it up to the ring post. Several wrestlers run out to stop The Dirty White Boy but he continues to attack Horner. Horner is hung by the rope and is bleeding from his mouth. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, The Dixie Dynamite and Danny Davis all run out and save Horner.

SMW Commissioner Bob Armstrong decides to let Tim Horner have as many matches against The Dirty White Boy and is sickened by what Mr. Ron Wright and The Dirty White Boy did to Horner.

Ronnie Garvin promo about “Paula” Orndorff. He’s upset that Orndorff touched his towel. He vows to make Orndorff pay whether he takes his false teeth or underwear.

“Prime Time” Brian Lee vs. “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndroff in a $10,000 bounty match.

Fans chant “Paula” at Orndorff. Brian Lee asks for the mic and gets the fans to chant “Paula” even more. Orndorff attacks Lee before the bell rings. Lee slams Orndorff’s head into the top turnbuckle. He punches Orndorff and then slams him. Another big punch at Orndorff and he goes to the outside. Lee mocks Orndorff as he gets back in the ring.

More loud “Paula” chants! Lee punches Orndorff and he goes back to the outside floor. Orndorff back in the ring and Lee gets him with a wristlock. Lee pounds on Orndorff’s left shoulder. He switches over to an armbar but Orndorff breaks out with a few forearms. Lee with a forearm shot of his own. Orndorff with a leg takedown but Lee gets Orndorff in a hammerlock.

Paul Orndorff with an elbow at Lee’s head to knock him down. He misses a big elbow drop on Lee. Brian Lee goes back to work on Orndorff’s left arm. Orndorff sends Lee to the outside. He brings Lee back in with a suplex. Orndorff follows with an elbow smash on Lee. He stomps Lee near the ropes. They each exchange punches. Orndorff whips Lee into the ropes and catches him with a clothesline. Brian Lee catches Orndorff with his legs as Orndorff tried for a top rope move.

Brian Lee powerslams Orndorff. He climbs up to the top rope and misses an elbow as Orndorff moves out of the way. Orndorff goes to the outside and grabs the timekeeper’s bell. He’s going to piledriver him on the bell but Brian Lee escapes. Referee Mark Curtis calls for a DQ on Orndorff for bringing in the bell. Brian Lee grabs the bell and tries to hit Orndorff with it.

WINNER: Brian Lee by DQ

Tim Horner and The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express promos for an upcoming show.

Brian Lee interviewed by Bob Caudle about his match against Paul Orndorff. He says that he gave Orndorff a “$10,000 butt-whipping”.

SHOW THOUGHTS: Good episode with focus on Brian Lee now having another stalker after him. He also had to deal with Paul Orndorff trying to collect the $10,000 bounty. The Dirty White Boy and Tim Horner feud heated up this week with DWB attacking Horner. Matches were kept pretty short with more focus on the storylines going on in SMW.
